Here’s what else is going on in retail this week:
In earnings: Costco does things its own way, and that includes earnings reports. The membership club will report its latest quarterly results on Thursday, weeks after big box rivals such as Target, Walmart, and BJ’s. The company had a blockbuster previous quarter, beating expectations across every major metric. It also reports sales on a monthly basis, and its latest numbers showed sales increasing 7.1% year over year in August.
In webinars: Supply chain service provider Flieber is hosting a webinar titled “10+ Awesome Hacks for Your Amazon Business Growth in 2024.” Broken up into five-minute presentations, the event will feature tips on everything from using AI to improve keyword strategy and pricing to navigating Temu and TikTok Shop.
In economics: The experts over at Oxford Economics are hosting a discussion on city tourism after the pandemic and how emerging travel trends are impacting demand composition, relative to pre-pandemic trends.
