It’s nigh on impossible to control how people feel, but brands can nudge consumers toward a positive opinion with a few branding tricks (alongside good product quality and service, of course). New research shows that:
- Authenticity is crucial to customers’ opinion of a brand: 80% of consumers say they are more likely to follow a company on social media if their content feels authentic;
- Branding basics still matter: Something as simple as having signature brand colors can boost awareness as much as 80%; and
- Blatant self-promotion is a turn-off: Almost nine of every 10 people surveyed said they perceive sponsored ads as a negative interference in their shopping experience, and 80% said they ignore these types of ads altogether.
